Combined heat and power cogeneration
In combined heat and power (CHP) plants, both mechanical and thermal useful energy are simultaneously obtained from fuel energy via thermodynamic processes. As a rule, mechanical power is directly transformed into electric energy.
VKK STANDARDKESSEL supplies complete plants or custom-made waste heat systems for CHP units with -gas turbines -steam turbines -gas and steam turbines -Diesel/Otto engine -steam engine.
Depending on the required operational parameters and the waste gas quality, waste heat boilers are designed as fire-tube or water-tube boilers. Where required by system design, water-tube heating surfaces are added to fire-tube boilers. Supplemental firing equipment is often added to increase the heat output and improve the controllable operating range. Fire-tube boiler systems are serially provided for turbine performances up to 5 MW.
